You can now enjoy a hot shower whenever you want with a continuous flow hot water system. Also known as an instant hot water system, continuous flow hot water systems are perfect for busy families and the environmentally conscious as they conserve water and reduce your power bills at the same time. So how do they work?
Unlike traditional storage hot water systems, continuous flow models are designed to heat water on demand as it is being used. When you turn the water on, the flow of water into the unit activates the gas or electrical heat exchanger which heats the water. When you turn the water off, the hot water system automatically turns off too. This allows you to have a continuous flow of hot water for the duration of your use.
These systems are a fantastic way to make sure there is enough hot water for everyone, especially guests. But doesn’t that mean higher running costs? Not particularly. It actually promotes energy efficiency as it removes the need to heat and maintain water at a constant temperature 24/7. For areas with a warmer ambient water temperature, a continuous flow system will regulate the amount of heating needed to generate hot water from the system, thus saving even more energy.
With any hot water system, we strongly recommend that you consult with one of our plumbing specialists first so that you can get the right model for your home.
